حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ

أَنَّ عَلِيًّا كَانَ يَسِيرُ حَتَّى إِذَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَأَظْلَمَ، نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ، ثُمَّ تَعَشَّى، ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ عَلَى إِثْرِهَا، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ

Translation

✧ ʿAli used to travel until when the sun set and it became dark, he would dismount and pray Maghrib, then eat supper, then pray ʿIsha immediately after it. Then he would say: “This is how I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ do.”
