حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ:

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ، فَدَعَتْ لِي بِطَعَامٍ، فَقَالَتْ لِي: كُلْ، فَإِنِّي مَا شَبِعْتُ مِنْ طَعَامٍ فَأَشَاءُ أَنْ أَبْكِيَ إِلَّا بَكَيْتُ، قُلْتُ: مِمَّ ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَتْ: أَذْكُرُ الْحَالَ الَّتِي فَارَقَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الدُّنْيَا، مَا شَبِعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ مِنْ خُبْزِ بُرٍّ فِي يَوْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ، حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِاللهِ

Translation

✧ I entered upon Aisha, and she called for food for me, then said to me: Eat, for I never ate my fill of food but that I wished to weep, except that I did weep. I said: Why is that? She said: I remember the condition in which the Messenger of God ﷺ left this world. The Messenger of God never ate his fill of wheat bread twice in one day until he met God.
