حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُكَيْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَوْشَبُ بْنُ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ غَنِيَّةَ بِنْتِ الرَّضِيِّ، قَالَتْ:

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ فِي نِسْوَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ، فَسَأَلْنَاهَا عَنِ النَّبِيذِ، فَقَالَتْ: لَا نَفَعَكُنَّ اللهُ يَا عَبْدَ الْقَيْسِ بِالنَّبِيذِ، نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ عَنِ الْحَنْتَمِ، وَالدُّبَّاءِ، وَالنَّقِيرِ، قَالَتْ: وَلَكِنِ اشْرَبْنَ فِي الْأَدَمِ كُلِّهِ، أَوْ مَا أَوْكَيْتُنَّ أَوْ عَلَّقْتُنَّ

Translation

✧ I entered upon the Mother of the Believers, Aisha ؓ, among a group of women from 'Abd al-Qays, and we asked her about nabidh. She said: 'May Allah not benefit you, O 'Abd al-Qays, with nabidh. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the hantam, the dubba', and the naqir.' She said: 'But drink from all leather vessels, or what you have tied or hung.'
