حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنِ الْعَوَّامِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللهُ الْأَرْضَ جَعَلَتْ تَمِيدُ، فَخَلَقَ الْجِبَالَ فَأَلْقَاهَا عَلَيْهَا فَاسْتَقَرَّتْ، فَتَعَجَّبَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ خَلْقِ الْجِبَالِ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَبِّ، هَلْ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ شَيْءٌ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمِ، الْحَدِيدُ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَبِّ، فَهَلْ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ شَيْءٌ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الْحَدِيدِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمِ، النَّارُ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَبِّ، فَهَلْ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ شَيْءٌ أَشَدُّ مِنَ النَّارِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمِ، الْمَاءُ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَبِّ، فَهَلْ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ شَيْءٌ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الْمَاءِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمِ، الرِّيحُ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَبِّ، فَهَلْ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ شَيْءٌ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الرِّيحِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمِ، الْإِنْسَانُ يَتَصَدَّقُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَيُخْفِيهَا مِنْ شِمَالِهِ

✧ When Allah created the earth, it began to sway, so He created the mountains and cast them upon it, and it became stable. The angels marveled at the creation of the mountains and said: 'O Lord, is there anything among Your creation stronger than the mountains?' He said: 'Yes, iron.' They said: 'O Lord, is there anything among Your creation stronger than iron?' He said: 'Yes, fire.' They said: 'O Lord, is there anything among Your creation stronger than fire?' He said: 'Yes, water.' They said: 'O Lord, is there anything among Your creation stronger than water?' He said: 'Yes, wind.' They said: 'O Lord, is there anything among Your creation stronger than wind?' He said: 'Yes, a human being who gives charity with his right hand and conceals it from his left hand.'
