✧ Abd al-Rahman b. Awf migrated to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Messenger of God ﷺ established brotherhood between him and Sa'd b. al-Rabi'. Sa'd b. al-Rabi' said to him: O Abd al-Rahman, I am among the wealthiest of the Ansar, and I will share my wealth with you. I have two wives, so I will divorce one of them for you, and when her waiting period ends, marry her. Abd al-Rahman said to him: May God bless you in your family and wealth, but show me the market. So he showed him. He did not return that day until he had obtained some ghee and dried curds, having profited. He stayed for some days, then he passed by the Prophet ﷺ and the Prophet saw a trace of yellow perfume on him. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: What is the matter? He said: I have married, O Messenger of God. He said: Whom? He said: A woman from the Ansar. He said: What did you give as dower? He said: A date-stone's weight—or the weight of a date-stone—of gold. He said: Give a wedding feast, even if with a sheep.
