✧ Humayd al-Tawil from Anas b. Malik

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:

مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، فَإِذَا صَبِيٌّ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الطَّرِيقِ، فَخَشِيَتْ أُمُّهُ أَنْ يُوطَأَ، فَسَعَتْ تَقُولُ: ابْنِي ابْنِي، فَأَخَذَتْهُ، فَقَالَ الْقَوْمُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ لِتُلْقِيَ ابْنَهَا فِي النَّارِ، فَقَالَ: وَلَا اللهُ يُلْقِي حَبِيبَهُ فِي النَّارِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by with a group of his companions, and there was a young boy on the road. His mother feared he would be trampled, so she ran saying: My son, my son, and she grabbed him. The people said: O Messenger of God, this woman would never throw her son into the Fire. He said: Nor would God throw His beloved into the Fire.
