حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ الْمَكِّيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّهُ

سُئِلَ عَنْ صِفَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ لَا قَصِيرًا وَلَا طَوِيلًا، حَسَنَ الشَّعَرِ رَجِلَهُ، مُشْرَبًا فِي وَجْهِهِ حُمْرَةً، ضَخْمَ الْكَرَادِيسِ، شَثْنَ الْكَفَّيْنِ وَالْقَدَمَيْنِ، عَظِيمَ الرَّأْسِ، طَوِيلَ الْمَسْرُبَةِ، لَمْ أَرَ قَبْلَهُ وَلَا بَعْدَهُ مِثْلَهُ، إِذَا مَشَى يَتَكَفَّأُ كَانَ كَأَنَّمَا يَنْحَطُّ مِنْ صَبَبٍ

✧ He was asked about the description of the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: "He was neither short nor tall, with beautiful, well-combed hair, a reddish tinge in his face, big-boned, coarse in the palms and soles, large-headed, and with a long line of hair from the chest to the navel. I never saw the like of him before or after him. When he walked, he leaned forward as if descending a slope."
