✧ I prayed the noon prayer with Ali, then he went to a gathering he used to hold in Madinah and sat down, and we sat around him until the afternoon prayer was due. A vessel with water was brought to him, and he took a handful from it and rinsed his mouth, then sniffed water into his nose, wiped his face and forearms, wiped his head, and wiped his feet. Then he stood and drank the remaining water in the vessel, and said: "I have been told that some men dislike one of them drinking while standing, but I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ do that. And this is the ablution of one who has not broken his state of purity."
