✧ The people said: O Messenger of Allah, the wealth is destroyed, we are afflicted by drought, O Messenger of Allah, and the wealth is destroyed, so pray for rain for us. He stood on Friday while he was on the minbar and prayed for rain — and Hammad described his extending his hands opposite his chest, with the palms of his hands facing the ground — and there was not even a small cloud in the sky. He did not leave until the strong young man was concerned about returning to his family. He said: Then we received rain until the next Friday. They said: O Messenger of Allah, the buildings have collapsed and the travelers are cut off, so supplicate to Allah to remove it from us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed and said: O Allah, around us and not upon us. He said: Then it cleared away until Madinah was as if it were in a crown.
