حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ

كَانَ يَلْعَقُ أَصَابِعَهُ الثَّلَاثَ إِذَا أَكَلَ، وَقَالَ: إِذَا سَقَطَتْ لُقْمَةُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيُمِطْ مَا كَانَ بِهَا مِنْ أَذًى وَلْيَأْكُلْهَا، وَلَا يَدَعْهَا لِلشَّيْطَانِ، وَلْيَسْلُتِ الصَّحْفَةَ، فَإِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْرُونَ فِي أَيِّ طَعَامِكُمُ الْبَرَكَةُ

Translation

✧ He used to lick his three fingers after eating, and he said: “If a morsel of one of you falls down, let him remove whatever harm is on it and eat it, and not leave it for Satan. And let him wipe the plate, for you do not know in which of your foods the blessing lies.”
