أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ - قَالَ: أَظُنُّهُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ - قَالَ:

كَانَ غُلَامٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ يَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَمَرِضَ، فَأَتَاهُ يَعُودُهُ، وَأَبُوهُ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ، فَدَعَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، فَجَعَلَ الْغُلَامُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُوهُ: أَطِعْ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ، فَقَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، ثُمَّ هَلَكَ الْغُلَامُ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي أَنْقَذَهُ بِي مِنَ النَّارِ

✧ A Jewish boy used to serve the Prophet ﷺ, and he fell ill. The Prophet ﷺ came to visit him, and his father was at his head. The Prophet ﷺ called him, and the boy began looking at his father. His father said to him, “Obey Abu al-Qasim.” So he said, “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.” Then the boy died, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out saying, “Praise be to Allah who saved him through me from the Fire.”
