حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ فَتًى مِنْ أَسْلَمَ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ وَلَيْسَ لِي مَا أَتَجَهَّزُ بِهِ، قَالَ: اذْهَبْ إِلَى فُلَانٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ تَجَهَّزَ، فَقُلْ لَهُ: يُقْرِئُكُ رَسُولُ اللهِ السَّلَامَ وَيَقُولُ لَكَ: ادْفَعْ إِلَيَّ مَا تَجَهَّزْتَ بِهِ، فَأَتَاهُ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ - أَحْسِبُهُ لِامْرَأَتِهِ -: لَا تُخْفِي مِنْهُ شَيْئًا، فَوَاللهِ لَا تُخْفِي مِنْهُ شَيْئًا فَيُبَارَكُ لَنَا فِيهِ

Translation

✧ A young man from Aslam said: O Messenger of Allah, I want to go on jihad but I have nothing with which to equip myself. He said: Go to so-and-so the Anṣārī, for he had already equipped himself, and say to him: The Messenger of Allah sends you greetings of peace and says to you: Hand over to me what you have equipped yourself with. So he went to him, and the man said—I think to his wife—Do not hide any of it from him, for by Allah, if you do not hide any of it from him, we will be blessed in it.
