حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَ:

مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ - وَلَهُ عِنْدَ اللهِ خَيْرٌ - يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا الشَّهِيدُ، فَإِنَّهُ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فَيُقْتَلَ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ، لِمَا يَرَى مِنْ فَضْلِ الْكَرَامَةِ

Translation

✧ There is no servant who has good with Allah and wishes to return to this world, except the martyr, for he wishes to return and be killed ten times because of the excellence of the honour he sees.
