حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ:

رُفِعْتُ مَعَ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، مِنَ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ، فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَسْمَعُهُ يَقُولُ: لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ، حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الْجَمْرَةِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: مَا هَذَا الْإِهْلَالُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ يُهِلُّ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الْجَمْرَةِ، وَحَدَّثَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَهَلَّ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيْهَا، قَالَ: فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِقَوْلِ حُسَيْنٍ، فَقَالَ: صَدَقَ، قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَخِي الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، وَكَانَ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ: يُهِلُّ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الْجَمْرَةِ

Translation

✧ I was lifted up with al-Husayn b. Ali from Muzdalifah, and I kept hearing him say: "Labbayk, labbayk," until he reached the Jamrah. I said to him: "What is this talbiyah, O Abu Abd Allah?" He said: "I heard my father Ali b. Abi Talib making talbiyah until he reached the Jamrah, and he told me that the Messenger of God ﷺ made talbiyah until he reached it." He said: "Then I returned to Ibn Abbas and informed him of Husayn's statement. He said: 'He spoke the truth.' He said: 'And my brother al-Fadl b. Abbas told me, and he was the riding companion of the Messenger of God ﷺ: he made talbiyah until he reached the Jamrah.'"
