حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ سَأَلَ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانُوا هُمْ أَجْدَرَ أَنْ يَسْأَلُوهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ قَالَ: مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا ؟ قَالَ: مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَبِيرٍ، إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، قَالَ: فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ: فَمَا رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ فَرِحُوا بِشَيْءٍ بَعْدَ الْإِسْلَامِ أَشَدَّ فَرَحًا مِنْهُمْ مِنْ قَوْلِهِ

Translation

✧ A man from the desert people asked the Prophet of God ﷺ—and they were more entitled than his Companions to ask him—and said: O Messenger of God, when is the Hour? He said: What have you prepared for it? He said: I have not prepared for it anything great, except that I love God and His Messenger. He said: Then you will be with those whom you love. Anas said: I have not seen the people rejoice at anything after Islam more intensely than their rejoicing at his statement.
