✧ A group from 'Ukl and 'Uraynah came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — this is how Ma'mar said it. He said: They spoke of Islam, then they came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that they were people of livestock and not people of settled cultivation, and they found the climate of Madinah disagreeable, and they complained of its epidemic to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ ordered for them a herd of camels and a shepherd. He said: Go out from Madinah and drink of their urine and milk. They departed and camped at the edge of the Harrah, then they disbelieved after their Islam, killed the shepherd, and drove off the herd. The Prophet ﷺ sent after them, and they were brought back. He cut off their hands and feet, put out their eyes with heated nails, and left them at the edge of the Harrah gnawing at its stones until they died. Qatadah said: It has reached us that this verse was revealed concerning them: The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth for corruption... to the end of the verse.
