حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، وَحَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَنَتَ شَهْرًا، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: يَلْعَنُ، وَقَالَ هِشَامٌ: يَدْعُو عَلَى أَحْيَاءٍ مِنْ أَحْيَاءِ الْعَرَبِ، ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed qunut for a month. Shu'bah said: "Cursing." Hisham said: "Supplicating against tribes of the Arab tribes." Then he abandoned it after bowing.
