حَدَّثَنَا هُرَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى أَبُو حَمْزَةَ الْأَسَدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:

كَانَ عَامَّةُ وَصِيَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ: الصَّلَاةَ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ، حَتَّى جَعَلَ يُغَرْغِرُهَا أَوْ يُغَرْغِرُ بِهَا فِي صَدْرِهِ وَمَا يَفِيضُ بِهَا لِسَانُهُ

Translation

✧ The general instruction of the Messenger of God ﷺ when death approached him was: “The prayer, and what your right hands possess,” until he began to gurgle it in his chest and his tongue could no longer utter it.
