✧ I asked Ibn 'Abbas about white, green, and red earthenware jars. He said: "The first to ask the Prophet ﷺ was the delegation of 'Abd al-Qays. He said: 'Do not drink from gourds, pitch-coated vessels, hollowed stumps, or green jars, and do not drink from earthenware jars. Drink from waterskins.' He said: 'They said: Pour water over them.' He said to him the third or fourth time: 'Pour it out.' Then he said: 'God has forbidden me - or forbidden - wine, gambling, the drum, and every intoxicant is forbidden.'"
