حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، يُقَالُ لَهَا: سَوْدَةُ، فَقَالَ لَهَا: إِنَّ خَيْرَ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ أَعْجَازَ الْإِبِلِ نِسَاءُ قُرَيْشٍ، أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى وَلَدٍ فِي صِغَرِهِ، وَأَرْعَاهُ عَلَى بَعْلٍ فِي ذَاتِ يَدِهِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ proposed to a woman of Quraysh called Sawdah and said to her: The best women who have ridden the backs of camels are the women of Quraysh, the most tender toward a child in his infancy and the most careful of a husband in what he possesses.
