حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ رُزَيْقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

بَيْنَمَا جِبْرِيلُ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذْ سَمِعَ نَقِيضًا مِنْ فَوْقِهِ، فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: فُتِحَ بَابٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَا فُتِحَ قَطُّ، فَأَتَاهُ مَلَكٌ فَقَالَ: أَبْشِرْ بِنُورَيْنِ أُوتِيتَهُمَا لَمْ يُعْطَهُمَا نَبِيٌّ كَانَ قَبْلَكَ: فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ، وَخَوَاتِيمِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ، لَمْ تَقْرَأْ مِنْهُمَا حَرْفًا إِلَّا أُعْطِيتَ

Translation

✧ While Jibril was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, he heard a creaking above him. He raised his head and said: 'A gate of heaven has been opened that was never opened before.' Then an angel came to him and said: 'Rejoice in two lights that you have been given and no prophet before you was given: the Opening of the Book and the closing verses of Surat al-Baqara. You will not recite a letter of them except that you will be granted it.'
