حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:

أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّ الْحُمَّى قَدْ أَلَحَّتْ عَلَيْنَا، فَقَالَ: إِنْ شِئْتُمْ أَنْ تُرْفَعَ عَنْكُمْ رُفِعَتْ، وَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ أَنْ تَكُونَ لَكُمْ طَهُورًا ؟ قَالُوا: تَكُونُ لَنَا طَهُورًا

✧ The Prophet ﷺ was approached and it was said to him: "The fever has persisted upon us." He said: "If you wish it to be lifted from you, it will be lifted; and if you wish it to be a purification for you?" They said: "Let it be a purification for us."
