حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:
لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَكَّةَ، أَتَاهُ أَصْحَابُ الصَّلِيبِ الَّذِي يَجْمَعُونَ الْأَوْدَاكَ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَجْمَعُ هَذِهِ الْأَوْدَاكَ مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ وَغَيْرِهَا، وَإِنَّمَا هِيَ لِلْأُدُمِ وَالسُّفُنِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: قَاتَلَ اللهُ الْيَهُودَ، حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّحُومُ فَبَاعُوهَا وَأَكَلُوا أَثْمَانَهَا، فَنَهَاهُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ
Translation

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Makkah, the cross-people who collect tallow came to him. They said: O Messenger of Allah, we collect this tallow from carrion and other things, and it is only for seasoning and ships. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: May Allah curse the Jews. Fats were forbidden for them, but they sold them and consumed their price. He forbade them from that.
