حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ الْيَسَعِ، عَنْ شِبْلِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَعْلَمُ ؟ قَالَ: مَنْ يَجْمَعُ عِلْمَ النَّاسِ إِلَى عِلْمِهِ، وَكُلُّ صَاحِبِ عِلْمٍ غَرْثَانُ
Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Which of the people is most knowledgeable? He said: The one who gathers the knowledge of the people to his own knowledge, and every possessor of knowledge is hungry.
