حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ جَابِرٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَعْتَقَ غُلَامًا لَهُ، لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ، قَالَ: فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: مَنْ يَشْتَرِيهِ مِنِّي ؟ فَاشْتَرَاهُ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بِثَمَانِمِائَةٍ، فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ: عَبْدًا قِبْطِيًّا مَاتَ عَامَ أَوَّلَ
Translation

✧ A man from the Ansar freed a slave of his, and he had no property other than him. He said: That reached the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: “Who will buy him from me?” So Nu'aym b. 'Abd Allah bought him for eight hundred, and he handed it over to him. He said: I heard Jabir say: A Coptic slave who died last year.
