حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَأَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْحَوْتَكِيَّةِ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: مَنْ شَهِدَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ أَتَاهُ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ بِأَرْنَبٍ ؟ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: أَنَا، جَاءَ بِهَا الْأَعْرَابِيُّ قَدْ نَظَّفَهَا وَصَنَعَهَا يُهْدِيهَا لِرَسُولِ اللهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كُلُوا، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهَا تَدْمَى، فَأَكَلَ الْقَوْمُ وَلَمْ يَأْكُلِ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَلَا تَأْكُلُ ؟ قَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ. قَالَ: فَهَلَّا الْبِيضَ.

✧ Umar b. al-Khattab said: 'Who witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when the Bedouin came to him with a rabbit?' A man from the group said: 'I did. The Bedouin brought it cleaned and prepared, presenting it as a gift to the Messenger of Allah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Eat.' A man from the group said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I saw it bleeding.' So the people ate, but the Bedouin did not eat. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Will you not eat?' He said: 'I am fasting.' He said: 'Why not [use] the white [eggs]?'

    هو حديث يرويه موسى بن طلحة بن عبيد الله عن ابن الحوتكية عن عمر واختلف عن موسى بن طلحة فرواه محمد بن عبد الرحمن مولى آل طلحة عن موسى بن طلحة عن ابن الحوتكية عن عمر وتابعه حكيم بن جبير واختلف عنه فقال الثوري وابن عيينة والمسعودي عن حكيم بن جبير عن موسى بن طلحة عن ابن الحوتكية وقال زائدة عن حكيم بن جبير عن موسى بن طلحة عن عمر لم يذكر ابن الحوتكية ورواه الحجاج بن أرطاة عن عثمان بن عبد الله بن موهب عن موسى بن طلحة عن يزيد بن الحوتكية قال ذلك حماد بن سلمة عن حجاج وخالفه هشام الدستوائي فرواه عن حجاج عن موسى لم يذكر بينهما أحدا ورواه ابن أبي ليلى عن الحكم عن موسى بن طلحة عن ابن الحوتكية وخالفه سفيان بن حسين وسعيد بن محمد شيخ لابن جريج فروياه عن الحكم عن موسى عن عمر لم يذكرا فيه ابن الحوتكية ورواه إبراهيم بن طهمان عن أبي حنيفة عن الهيثم عن موسى عن ابن الحوتكية عن عمر وخالفه وكيع وأبو يحيى الحماني وعبيد الله بن موسى فرووه عن أبي حنيفة عن موسى عن ابن الحوتكية ورواه طلحة بن يحيى بن طلحة بن عبيد الله وعمرو بن عثمان بن عبد الله بن موهب عن موسى بن طلحة عن عمر ولم يذكرا فيه ابن الحوتكية ورواه محمد بن منصور الجواز عن ابن عيينة فقال عن بيان عن موسى بن طلحة عن ابن الحوتكية وصحف الجواز في قوله بيان وإنما كان ابن عيينة يقول حدثني اثنان عن موسى بن طلحة يعني محمد بن عبد الرحمن مولى آل طلحة وحكيم بن جبير فجعله الجواز عن بيان ورواه يحيى بن سام عن موسى بن طلحة عن أبي ذر قصة الأيام البيض دون غيره حدث به عن يحيى الأعمش ومنصور وفطر وبسام الصيرفي ويزيد بن أبي زياد كذلك ورواه عبد الملك بن عمير عن موسى بن طلحة عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ورواه سليمان بن أبي داود عن الحكم عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى عن أبي بن كعب عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ولم يصنع شيئا والصواب عن الحكم عن موسى بن طلحة عن ابن الحوتكية عن عمر وقد تقدم وروى هذا الحديث طلحة بن يحيى عن موسى بن طلحة مرسلا قال ذلك يحيى القطان عنه ورواه يحيى بن أبي بكير فقال عن أبي الأحوص عن طلحة بن يحيى عن موسى بن طلحة عن أبيه ووهم فيه وقول القطان أصح

Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, the freedman of the family of Ṭalḥah, narrated it from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah from ʿUmar, and Ḥakīm b. Jubayr followed him in this. There is disagreement about him as well: al-Thawrī, Ibn ʿUyaynah and al-Masʿūdī said, from Ḥakīm b. Jubayr from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah, while Zāʾidah said, from Ḥakīm b. Jubayr from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from ʿUmar, not mentioning Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah. Al-Ḥajjāj b. Arṭāh narrated it from ʿUthmān b. ʿAbdillāh b. Mawhab from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from Yazīd b. al-Ḥawtakiyyah; Ḥammād b. Salamah said this from al-Ḥajjāj. Hishām al-Dastuwāʾī opposed him and narrated it from al-Ḥajjāj from Mūsā, mentioning no one between them. Ibn Abī Laylā narrated it from al-Ḥakam from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah. Sufyān b. Ḥusayn and Saʿīd b. Muḥammad, a teacher of Ibn Jurayj, opposed him and narrated it from al-Ḥakam from Mūsā from ʿUmar, not mentioning Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah in it. Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān narrated it from Abū Ḥanīfah from al-Haytham from Mūsā from Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah from ʿUmar. Wakīʿ, Abū Yaḥyā al-Ḥimmānī and ʿUbaydullāh b. Mūsā opposed him and narrated it from Abū Ḥanīfah from Mūsā from Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah. Ṭalḥah b. Yaḥyā b. Ṭalḥah b. ʿUbaydillāh and ʿAmr b. ʿUthmān b. ʿAbdillāh b. Mawhab narrated it from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from ʿUmar and did not mention Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah in it. Muḥammad b. Manṣūr al-Jawwāz narrated it from Ibn ʿUyaynah and said, from Bayān from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah; al-Jawwāz made a scribal error in saying "Bayān". Ibn ʿUyaynah used only to say, "Two people narrated to me from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah," meaning Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, the freedman of the family of Ṭalḥah, and Ḥakīm b. Jubayr, but al-Jawwāz turned it into "from Bayān." Yaḥyā b. Sām narrated from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from Abū Dharr the story of the White Days (al-ayyām al-bīḍ) alone, without anything else. Al-Aʿmash, Manṣūr, Fiṭr, Bassām al-Ṣayrafī and Yazīd b. Abī Ziyād narrated it thus from Yaḥyā. ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr narrated it from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet ﷺ. Sulaymān b. Abī Dāwūd narrated it from al-Ḥakam from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Laylā from Ubayy b. Kaʿb from the Prophet ﷺ, but he accomplished nothing. The correct version is from al-Ḥakam from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from Ibn al-Ḥawtakiyyah from ʿUmar, as has preceded. Ṭalḥah b. Yaḥyā narrated this hadith from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah as mursal; Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān said this from him. Yaḥyā b. Abī Bukayr narrated it and said, from Abū al-Aḥwaṣ from Ṭalḥah b. Yaḥyā from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from his father, and he erred in it. The statement of al-Qaṭṭān is more correct.
