حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ عَلَى الْبَرَاءِ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِهِ، قَالَ: قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَفَضَلَ هَذَا الْخَاتَمُ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ تَرَوْنَ أَحَقُّ بِهَذَا ؟ ثُمَّ قَالَ: ادْنُ يَا بَرَاءُ، فَأَلْبَسَنِي فِي إِصْبَعِي، وَقَالَ: الْبَسْ مَا كَسَاكَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

✧ I saw on al-Bara' a ring of gold, and it was said to him it was because of it. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ divided and this ring remained over. He said: Who do you think is more entitled to this? Then he said: Come near, O Bara', and he put it on my finger, and said: Wear what God and His Messenger have clothed you.
