حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَشْيَاخِهِمْ، قَالَ: قَالَ هِشَامُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ لِجِيرَانِهِ:
إِنَّكُمْ مُتَخَطُّونَ إِلَى رِجَالٍ مَا كَانُوا بِأَخَصَّ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَلَا أَوْعَى لِحَدِيثِهِ مِنِّي، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَا بَيْنَ خَلْقِ آدَمَ إِلَى أَنْ تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ خَلْقٌ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ

✧ You are passing over me to go to men who were not closer to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or more retentive of his hadith than I. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Between the creation of Adam and the coming of the Hour there is no creature greater than the Dajjal.
