حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ زَاذَانَ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ:

" كُنَّا نَحْزِرُ قِيَامَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ. فَحَزَرْنَا قِيَامَهُ فِي الظُّهْرِ، فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ قَدْرَ ثَلَاثِينَ آيَةً، كُلُّ رَكْعَةٍ، قَدْرُ قِرَاءَةِ: ( تَنْزِيلُ - السَّجْدَةِ ). وَحَزَرْنَا قِيَامَهُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ عَلَى قَدْرِ الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ، وَحَزَرْنَا قِيَامَهُ - يَعْنِي فِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ - عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ

✧ "We used to estimate the standing of the Messenger of God ﷺ in Zuhr and ʿAsr. We estimated his standing in the first two rakʿahs of Zuhr as the length of thirty verses, each rakʿah the length of reciting al-Sajdah (Qur'an 32). We estimated his standing in the first two rakʿahs of ʿAsr as the length of the last two of Zuhr, and we estimated his standing in the last two as half of that."
