Show the chain

What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationIt contains a break in the chain (inqiṭāʿ).

  • Abū Daʾūd

machine translationIts transmission revolves around Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab from ʿAttāb. Abū Dāwūd said: he did not hear from him, and Ibn Qāniʿ said: he did not meet him.

  • ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm al-Mudhirī

machine translationIts disconnection is obvious, because Saʿīd was born during the caliphate of ʿUmar, and ʿAttāb died on the day Abū Bakr died; Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr preceded him in saying this.

  • Ishbīlī

machine translationIt is a disconnected (munqaṭiʿ) hadith and is not connected by any sound route, because Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab did not hear from ʿAttāb b. Asīd.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Isḥāq was alone in transmitting it from al-Zuhrī from Saʿīd, and he is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī).

  • Abū Daʾūd

machine translationSaʿīd did not hear from ʿAttāb.

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThe sound report from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab, that the Prophet ﷺ commanded ʿAttāb, is mursal, and this is the narration of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Isḥāq from al-Zuhrī.

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

  • ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm al-Mudhirī

  • al-Tirmidhi

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationThe hadith revolves around Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab from ʿAttāb, and it is mursal, because ʿAttāb died before Ibn al-Musayyab was born.
