What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

machine translationOthers held that the hadith is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ), because Manṣūr b. al-Muʿtamir is among the memorizers of hadith and its trustworthy narrators (thiqāt), and he narrated the story in full. An addition from a trustworthy narrator (thiqah) is accepted so long as it does not contradict the narration of the group.

  • al-Albani

machine translationHe (Abū Dāwūd) remained silent about it [and he said in his letter to the people of Mecca: everything I have remained silent about is acceptable (ṣāliḥ)].
