✧ The people of two religions do not inherit from each other

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، أَنَّ الْأَشْعَثَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ قَالَ:

يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، إِنَّ أُخْتِي كَانَتْ تَحْتَ مِقْوَلٍ مِنَ الْمَقَاوِلِ فَهَوَّدَهَا، وَإِنَّهَا مَاتَتْ، فَمَنْ يَرِثُهَا ؟ قَالَ عُمَرُ: " أَهْلُ دِينِهَا "

Translation

✧ O Commander of the Faithful, my sister was married to one of the maqawil (chiefs), and he made her a Jewess. She has died; who inherits from her? Umar said: 'The people of her religion.'
