✧ The marriage of Fatimah, may Allah have mercy on her

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ،
أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ فَاطِمَةَ قَالَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: زَوَّجْتَنِيهِ أُعَيْمِشَ، عَظِيمَ الْبَطْنِ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَقَدْ زَوَّجْتُكِهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَأَوَّلُ أَصْحَابِي سِلْمًا، وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ عِلْمًا، وَأَعْظَمُهُمْ حِلْمًا
Translation
✧ That Ali, when he married Fatimah, she said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'You married me to a small-eyed man with a big belly?' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'I have married you to him, and he is the first of my companions to submit, the most knowledgeable of them, and the greatest of them in forbearance.'
