✧ Hamstringing animals in enemy territory

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أُخْبِرْتُ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ:
كَانَ الرَّجُلُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا خَافَ نَزَعَ سِلَاحَهُ، فَأَعْطَى هَذَا، وَأَعْطَى هَذَا، وَأَعْطَى هَذَا مِنْ سِلَاحِهِ، وَكَانَ أَسَفَّهَا عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّيحُ يَعْنِي حَتَّى يُنْكَرَانِ فَلَا يُعْرَفَانِ
Translation
✧ During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, a man, when he feared [for his life], would take off his weapon and give it to this one and give it to that one—parts of his weapon—until they became unrecognizable, so that the two would not be recognized.
