عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ عَنِ الْغَزْوِ، وَعَنْ أَصْحَابِ الدِّيوَانِ أَفْضَلَ أَوِ الْمُتَطَوِّعِ ؟ قَالَ: " بَلْ أَصْحَابُ الدِّيوَانِ، الْمُتَطَوِّعُ مَتَى شَاءَ رَجَعَ ".
Translation
✧ I asked al-Sha'bi about military expeditions and whether the soldiers of the regular army are superior or the volunteer. He said: 'Rather, the soldiers of the regular army; the volunteer can return whenever he wishes.'
