عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي مَا قَعَدْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتْبَعُونِي، وَلَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي
Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Maʿmar, from Hammām b. Munabbih, that he heard Abū Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
✧ Were it not that I would burden my community, I would not stay behind any raiding party that goes out in the path of God. But I do not find means to mount them, and they do not find means to follow me, and they are not content to stay behind after me.
