✧ Fleeing from battle

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ مُزَاحِمٍ
فِي قَوْلِهِ: ﴿إِنْ يَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ عِشْرُونَ صَابِرُونَ ﴾قَالَ: " كَانَ هَذَا وَاجِبًا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ لَا يَفِرَّ وَاحِدٌ مِنْ عَشَرَةٍ فَخَفَّفَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ
Translation
✧ Regarding His saying: "If there be of you twenty steadfast," he said: "This was obligatory upon them, that not one should flee from ten; then God lightened it for them."
