✧ Misappropriation of booty

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ:
أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ فُلَانًا غَلَّ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَيْ فُلَانُ، هَلْ فَعَلْتَ ؟ " قَالَ: لَا. قَالَ: فَنَظَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي أَخْبَرَهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، احْفِرُوا هَاهُنَا، فَحَفَرُوا فَاسْتَخْرَجُوا قَطِيفَةً فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، اسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: " دَعُونَا مِنْ أَبِي خَرْءٍ "، يَعْنِي الْعَذِرَةَ
Translation
✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Uhud and said: “O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so has misappropriated such-and-such.” The Prophet ﷺ said to him: “O so-and-so, did you do that?” He said: “No.” He said: Then the Prophet ﷺ looked at the man who had informed him, and he said: “O Messenger of Allah, dig here.” So they dug and brought out a velvet cloth. They said: “O Messenger of Allah, ask forgiveness for him.” He said: “Leave us alone from Abu Kharth,” meaning excrement.
