✧ Misappropriation of booty

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ:
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قِيلَ لَهُ فِي رَجُلٍ كَانَ يُمْسِكُ بِرَأْسِ دَابَّتِهِ عِنْدَ الْقِتَالِ: اسْتُشْهِدَ فُلَانٌ فَقَالَ: إِنَّهُ الْآنَ يَتَقَلَّبُ فِي النَّارِ قِيلَ: وَلِمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ: " غَلَّ شَمْلَةً يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ " فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي أَخَذْتُ شِرَاكَيْنِ يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ: " شِرَاكَانِ مِنْ نَارٍ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ was told about a man who had been holding the head of his mount during the fighting: “So-and-so has been martyred.” He said: “Right now he is tossing about in the Fire.” It was said: “Why, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “He misappropriated a woolen cloak on the day of Khaybar.” A man from the people said: “O Messenger of Allah, I took two sandal straps on such-and-such a day.” He said: “Two sandal straps of Fire.”
