عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ ذَرٍّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ،
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا بَعَثَ عَلِيًّا بَعَثَ خَلْفَهُ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ: " اتْبَعْ عَلِيًّا وَلَا تَدْعُهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ، وَلَكِنِ اتْبَعْهُ وَخُذْ بِيَدِهِ، وَقُلْ لَهُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " أَقِمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ " قَالَ: فَأَقَامَ حَتَّى جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: لَا تُقَاتِلْ قَوْمًا حَتَّى تَدْعُوَهُمْ
Translation
✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ sent Ali, he sent a man behind him and said: "Follow Ali and do not call him from behind, but follow him and take him by the hand and say to him: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Stop until he comes to you.'" He said: So he stopped until the Prophet ﷺ came and said: Do not fight a people until you call them.
