عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ:
أَوْصَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ حِينَ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ: إِنَّكَ سَتَأْتِي عَلَى نَاسٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَادْعُهُمْ إِلَى التَّوْحِيدِ، فَإِنْ أَقَرُّوا بِذَلِكَ فَقُلْ: إِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ فَرَضَ عَلَيْكُمْ خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ، فَإِنْ أَقَرُّوا بِذَلِكَ فَقُلْ: إِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ فَرَضَ عَلَيْكُمْ صِيَامَ شَهْرٍ فِي اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا، فَإِنْ أَقَرُّوا بِذَلِكَ فَقُلْ: إِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ فَرَضَ عَلَيْكُمْ زَكَاةً فِي أَمْوَالِكُمْ، تُؤْخَذُ مِنْ أَغْنِيَائِكُمْ، فَإِنْ أَقَرُّوا بِذَلِكَ، فَخُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ، وَاجْتَنِبْ كَرَائِمَ أَمْوَالِهِمْ، وَإِيَّاكَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمَظْلُومِ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا حِجَابَ لَهَا دُونِي ".
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ advised Muadh b. Jabal when he sent him to Yemen, saying: "You will come upon some people of the Book. Call them to tawhid. If they affirm that, then say: 'Allah has made obligatory upon you five prayers by night and day.' If they affirm that, then say: 'Allah has made obligatory upon you fasting one month in twelve months.' If they affirm that, then say: 'Allah has made obligatory upon you zakah on your wealth, taken from your rich.' If they affirm that, then take from their wealth, but avoid the best of their wealth. Beware of the supplication of the wronged, for there is no veil between it and Me."
