✧ Carrying weapons and the Quran into enemy territory

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
كُرِهَ حَمْلُ السِّلَاحِ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ " قُلْتُ: أَتُحْمَلُ الْخَيْلُ إِلَيْهِمْ ؟ فَأَبَى ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: أَمَّا مَا تَقَوَّوْا بِهِ فِي الْقِتَالِ فَلَا يُحْمَلُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَأَمَّا غَيْرُهُ فَلَا بَأْسَ، وَقَالَهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ
Translation
✧ Carrying weapons into enemy territory was disliked. I said: 'Are horses taken to them?' He refused that and said: 'As for what they use to strengthen themselves in fighting, it is not carried to them; other than that, there is no harm.' 'Amr b. Dinar also said this.
