✧ Killing the polytheists by captivation and ransoming captives

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، وَإِسْرَائِيلَ، أَوْ أَحَدُهُمَا عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّبٍ، عَنْ فُرَاتِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ،
أَنَّهُ أُخِذَ أَسِيرًا، فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِقَتْلِهِ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي مُسْلِمٌ، فَأُخْبِرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَتَرَكَهُ وَقَالَ: إِنَّ مِنْكُمْ رِجَالًا أَكِلُهُمْ إِلَى إِيمَانِهِمْ، مِنْهُمْ فُرَاتُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ
Translation
✧ A captive was taken, and the Prophet ﷺ ordered him to be killed. He said, 'I am a Muslim.' The Prophet ﷺ was informed, so he left him and said, 'Among you are men whom I entrust to their faith; among them is Furat b. Hayyan.'
