✧ Killing the polytheists by captivation and ransoming captives

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ
أَنَّهُ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْأَمِيرِ يُعْطِي بِهِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ: " اقْتُلُوهُ، قَتْلُ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنِ كَذَا وَكَذَا
Translation
✧ He wrote to him about the commander, saying, 'Give me such and such for him.' He said, 'Kill him. Killing a man from the polytheists is dearer to me than such and such.'
