✧ The obligation of jihad

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَالثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ:

بُنِيَ الْإِسْلَامُ عَلَى ثَمَانِيَةِ أَسْهُمٍ شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ، وَالْحَجِّ، وَالْأَمْرِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ، وَالنَّهْيِ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ، وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ لَا سَهْمَ لَهُ

Translation

✧ Islam is built on eight shares: bearing witness that there is no god but God and that Muḥammad is the Messenger of God, establishing prayer, giving zakat, fasting Ramadan, performing Hajj, enjoining good, and forbidding evil. He who has no share has indeed failed.
