عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ
بَيْنَا هُوَ يَخْطُبُ بِمِنًى إِذْ هُوَ بِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ يَعْضِدُ مِنْ شَجَرٍ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ: " مَا تَصْنَعُ ؟ " قَالَ: أَقْطَعُ عَلَفًا لِبَعِيرِي، لَيْسَ عِنْدِي عَلَفٌ قَالَ: " هَلْ تَدْرِي أَيْنَ أَنْتَ ؟ " قَالَ: لَا. قَالَ: فَأَمَرَ عُمَرُ لَهُ بِنَفَقَةٍ
Translation
✧ While he was delivering a sermon in Mina, he noticed a man from Yemen cutting a tree. He sent for him and said: "What are you doing?" He said: I am cutting fodder for my camel; I have no fodder. He said: "Do you know where you are?" He said: No. He said: So ʿUmar ordered provision for him.
