عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِمَعْمَرٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِلزُّهْرِيِّ: أَبَلَغَكَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: " إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ، وَإِنِّي أُحَرِّمُ الْمَدِينَةَ " قَالَ: قَدْ سَمِعْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَلَكِنْ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَمْ يُحَرِّمُوا مَكَّةَ وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَهَا فَهِيَ حَرَامٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَعْتَى النَّاسِ عَلَى اللهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ رَجُلٌ قَتَلَ فِي الْحَرَمِ، وَرَجُلٌ قَتَلَ غَيْرَ قَاتِلِهِ، وَرَجُلٌ أَخَذَ بِذُحُولِ أَهْلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ
Translation
✧ I said to al-Zuhri: “Has it reached you that the Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Abraham made Makkah sacred, and I make Madinah sacred’?” He said: “I have heard of that, but it reached me that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: ‘People did not make Makkah sacred, but God made it sacred. It is sacred until the Day of Resurrection. Among the most insolent of people toward God on the Day of Resurrection are a man who killed in the sanctuary, a man who killed someone other than his killer, and a man who acted upon the vengeances of the people of the pre-Islamic era.’”
