✧ The Virtue of Prayer in the Haram

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَطَاءٌ،
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يَقُولُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ: صَلَاةٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مِائَةِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ، قَالَ: وَلَمْ يُسَمِّ مَسْجِدَ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَيُخَيَّلُ إِلَيَّ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ مَسْجِدَ الْمَدِينَةِ
Translation
✧ That he heard Ibn al-Zubayr say on the pulpit: 'A prayer in the Sacred Mosque is better than a hundred prayers in other mosques besides it.' He said: 'And he did not mention the Mosque of Madinah, so it seemed to me that he only meant the Mosque of Madinah.'
