✧ The Construction of the Ka'bah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
قَالَ آدَمُ: أَيْ رَبِّ، مَا لِي لَا أَسْمَعُ أَصْوَاتَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ ؟ قَالَ: خَطِيئَتُكَ، وَلَكِنِ اهْبِطْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ، فَابْنِ لِي بَيْتًا ثُمَّ احْفُفْ كَمَا رَأَيْتَ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَحُفُّ بِبَيْتِي الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ فَيُزْعَمُ أَنَّهُ بَنَاهُ مِنْ خَمْسَةِ أَجْبُلٍ: حِرَاءٍ، وَمِنْ لُبْنَانَ، وَالْجُودِيِّ، وَمِنْ طُورِ زِيتَا، وَطُورِ سَيْنَاءَ، وَكَانَ رُبْضُهُ مِنْ حِرَاءٍ، فَكَانَ هَذَا بِنَاءَ آدَمَ ثُمَّ بَنَاهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ﷺ "
Translation
✧ Adam said: "O Lord, why do I not hear the voices of the angels?" He said: "Because of your sin. But descend to the earth and build a House for Me, then circumambulate it as you saw the angels circumambulate My House in the sky." It is claimed that he built it from five mountains: Hira, Lebanon, al-Judi, Mount Zita, and Mount Sinai, and its foundation was from Hira. This was the building of Adam, then Ibrahim ﷺ built it.
