✧ He Cut the Prayer Short in Seven

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ
أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ طَافَ فِي إِمَارَةِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَلَى مَكَّةَ، فَخَرَجَ عَمْرٌو إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ: أَنْظِرْنِي حَتَّى أَنْصَرِفَ عَلَى وِتْرٍ، فَانْصَرَفَ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَطْوَافٍ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يُعِدْ ذَلِكَ السَّبْعَ
Translation
✧ Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakr circumambulated during the governorship of Amr b. Sa'id over Makkah. Amr went out to prayer, and Abd al-Rahman said to him: Wait for me so that I may finish on an odd number. He finished on three circuits, then he did not repeat that seven.
